What are AC Motors?
Electric motors account for almost half of the world’s electrical consumption and are an integral part of nearly every single industry worldwide. AC induction motors are used to power a variety of applications including pumps, fans, conveyors, mixers, hoists, crushers, and more. Historically, AC induction motors were designed as fixed speed motors whose base speeds were dependent upon the number of electromagnetic poles and the frequency of AC voltage applied to the motor. Today, the motor’s speed can be controlled using additional devices.
