FactoryMation Panel Shop Supplies Custom Controls
The FactoryMation panel shop can design and fabricate an extensive variety of control panels ranging from small motor starter panels to advanced motor control centers. A recent example of this expertise in custom panel design is a control panel designed for building ventilation control. The goal: design a panel that enables individual control of many exhaust fans throughout a large building while meeting safety codes. The panel shop got to work, receiving specifications from the customer and relaying plans until a design was hammered out. After this design and planning phase is when the actual assembly begins.
Many parts were included in this custom build. Motor starters were used to control the exhaust fans in each part of the building. With individual motor starters for each fan, it means that individual control of each exhaust fan was achieved. An individual operator device was also assigned to each motor to allow for operators to provide signals to the motors. Each operator device also lights up when the corresponding motor is switched on. Eight timing relays are also included in the design to provide ON Delay timing for individual motor circuits. Finally, fuse blocks and miniature circuit breakers are utilized to provide overload and short circuit protection for the control circuit.
Though there are many parts involved in making a panel of this size, the operation is relatively simple. The individual illuminated operator devices, motor starters, and control relays allow an operator to control each exhaust fan independent of the other fans as needed. Safety standards are met with a keyed selector switch on the enclosure door. This keyed switch allows for the control of the exhaust fans to be swapped between OFF, automatic, and manual override.
