Brake Resistors Certain AC Drive applications may require more deceleration torque than can be provided by the standard AC drive. These applications typically include one or more of the following characteristics: rapid deceleration, high inertia loads, and overhauling loads. Dynamic braking provides increased deceleration torque. AC drives with horsepower ratings of 20HP and less require the addition of a breaking resistor. AC drives with a horsepower rating greater than 20HP require the addition of both a braking resistor and externally mounted braking unit.
Brake Units Teco Braking units incorporate a robust power transistor for high duty cycles and feature a fault contact for a heatsink overheat condition. The hinged cover on the NEMA 1 housing provides for easy installation and maintenance. Units are HP rated for easy application. Braking units can be paralleled for high HP braking. The power charge indicator lamp extinguishes when the main circuit voltage drops below 50VDC. The operating temperature range is +14°F to 104°F
Line Reactors KDR Optimized Drive Reactors applied to the line side of a PWM drive will greatly improve the overall performance of the drive. The additional circuit inductance will reduce the AC voltage waveform line notching, DC bus overvoltage trips, inverter overvoltage, poor total power factor, and cross talk. Guaranteed for the lifetime of the drive.
