WEG SSW06 Soft Starters are designed to reduce torque in the powertrain by controlling the voltage delivered to the motor during startup. The operator interface has a high visibility LED display, which makes it easy to read the motor status from a distance, and it has a two-line sixteen-character LCD display that virtually eliminates the need for instruction manual during setup and operation. The readout can display English and Spanish. The keypad provides start, stop, and reset controls, as well as the programming interface. The "copy" function stores two sets of parameters and can be used to download parameters to other SSW06's for easy "cloning" of multiple starters. Integral bypass contacts are engaged once the motor is at full voltage. This removes the SCRs from the motor controls circuit and eliminates most of the power loss and heat dissipation.
